What is a Prosthodontist? (Video Included)

A prosthodontist is a dentist who specializes in the restoration and replacement of broken and missing teeth. To become a prosthodontist requires a four year undergraduate degree, followed by four years of dental school, followed by an additional three years of prosthodontic training. This specialized training is devoted to the art and science of removable and fixed prosthontics.

Removable prosthodontics are appliances that the patient can insert and remove from their mouths themselves, including dentures and partial dentures.

Fixed prosthodontics are appliances that the patient cannot remove, including veneers, crowns, bridges, and implants.
